Our origins

Our focus is clean, healthy water

Active Chemicals and Solutions (Pty) Ltd (ACS) was established in 1990 by David Grimsley (Director). David’s background is in gold recovery for a large mining house where he was part of introducing carbon-in-pulp technology into the industry in South Africa. He then represented a large activated carbon manufacturing company supplying their products to gold mines on 3 continents. In 1990 he decided to start ACS bringing with him his knowledge and expertise in water treatment solutions as well as his passion for training others in these skill sets.

ACS has since established itself as a specialty chemicals supplier in South Africa. With over 30 years of experience, we focus on providing top-quality local products and services to the mining and water treatment industry related to water purification. And as part of the services we provide, we are also dedicated to skills and knowledge transfer to our clients.
